I tried to order the clip on light, but it was on major back order. So I ordered this 20" sunpod from reeftanklighting on Friday.

It comes with little 2" legs so it should work out good. Only thing is that the bulb it comes with is 14K- oh well.
I changed the furniture around in the fish room today and I moved the tank to the opposite side of the room which means I have another sandstorm. I still gotta fix the rockwork from when I installed the skimmer and messed it up. So hopefully this week I will get the rockwork fixed, install the lights, and then I'm ready to add stuff. YAY!!

yes indeed that is the plan!! A few of the frags are just encrusted on the rock, so I won't be moving those unless little sticks start growing from them But I should have about 4 that I can move to the nano.

Thanks John- I had to redo all the rockwork and it's nicely secured with lotsa plastic zip ties!!

Gonna wait to make sure I have temp stability and then add some corals *maybe this weekend* YAY!!

I threw some flakes in tonite for the bristleworms- I know I'm crazy, but this is the first time I've fed the tank!! I hope this skimmer can keep up with my crazy feedings!!

That is a great skimmer...had one myself not too long ago. If you can get one, they make a overflow cup for that skimmer that is a nice addition for about $35...probably be paid for tomorrow morning when someone comes in to 'reservate' a car

hmm I need to look at a pic of the overflow cup- what does it do exactly? Is it for extra storage so you don't have to empty the cup as much or am I way off?? I am clueless about this reef equipment!!!

You better be careful, you lyfao alot...might not have much left if you don't slow down. The box...I believe it is called a 'pre-filter box'... acts like an overflow and the MJ pump fits down inside of it so that your skimmer draws the water from the surface of the tank. Sooner or later...well, with your self confessed overfeeding syndrome probably sooner than later...you will begin to see a film develop on the water's surface. This film is organic matter that will release nitrates and phosphates back into your tank...not really a huge amount but may as well get rid of what you can. In addition, the film can interrupt the gas exchange that occurs on the water's surface...again, not really a big deal since your skimmer is already aerating the water. I guess it is just another one of those things that, although not mandatory, will increase the quality of your water a little bit.

Take a look here: http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_...pro.asp?CartId=

They claim that they boost skimmer productivity by 20%...might be a fudge on the BS side, but I don't doubt that they help. In addition, they hide your pump so that you see neither it nor the wire.

he he he.. maybe that's why I'm lucky and don't gain any weight. I can't complain- I still fit in my prom dress!!
ok so it helps with skimming the surface? I already have the film on the surface- yuck. And I had that BEFORE I fed the tank . I will consider buying one on my next MD order.
