Eliyah's 24 Gallon Nano
Well I think this will be my first post on this site, and what a fine place to start…the nano reef build-off!
I’m planning on building a 20x20x15 gallon acrylic cube, which works out to be approximately 24 gallons. There is going to be an integral sump in the back of the tank, basically a black fake wall 4” in from the back of the tank which will hide the heater and pump I’ll be using for circulation. I am trying to figure out what type of flow I am going to use in the tank since it isn’t built yet; I think that a closed loop using a type of submersible pump like a MAG7 would be optimal, but I might just go with power heads and drill access holes for the power heads to blow back through the sub wall.

More to come as the planning comes together.
Cheers!
Eliyah

Welcome and very nice drawing. It wouldn't matter what program I used, I couldn't draw something that nice.

Thanks everyone, the CAD drawing was created using a program called Sketchup. It's very easy to use, and not too expensive if you've got a need to do CAD drawings...however, I must admit that I did not draw up this tank design, the friend who is going to be building the tank for me drafted it up and told me about the program.
I already had CAD experience using "Solid Edge", but this program is much easier to learn to use, as they have "How to use" videos you can watch online. I downloaded a trial version to check it out and see if it's something I want to buy, you guys should check it out too.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I'm looking forward to talking with you all as we watch our tanks take shape, grow and mature!

The only "CAD" program I've ever used is ETCHASKETCH.
It would keep locking up though, and you'd have to hold it over your head and shake it to reboot.

Thanks, he's even bigger than in the avatar now.
Sounds like a decent CAD program. I use AutoCAD for all my stuff.

Ah yes, the stand and lighting....the stand is going to be just slightly larger than the tank in the back (~3", just in-case I decide to add a sump at some point). I'm still up in the air on the lighting, but I will more than likely go with PC since I have some PC ballasts I used when I first setup my 29 gallon glass tank. If I end up going with PC's it'll be something like 3 -4 x 36watt bulbs, as they are the highest output under 20" that will fit over the tank. There will be one 110 watt ballast will be driving 3 10K's and another 55watt ballast will drive 1 actinic bulb (or 2 18's watters) which will add a nice touch of blue to the tank, and allow me to simulate the rising and setting of the sun.
I'll try to put together some more CAD drawings of my plans this week, I've been really busy at work and haven't had time to work on anything for the tank .
