U tube over flow question

Hey All,
I just set up my sump last night, 20 gal H with four glass baffles and a fuge with lr, ls, and cheato. I have the 20 g display flowing into the sump with a overflow U tube design, and its making loud flushing sounds like a toilet every couple minutes. Is there anyway, besides drilling the tank, that I can eliminate the flushing sound? Thanks in advance.

You are most likely having a problems with air getting trapped in the line. Your best bet would probably be to make a Stockman's Standpipe. Check out http://www.rl180reef.com/180/pages/s...s/stockman.htm
