I'll agree that us whining about TW doesn't really help us any, as far as new members or Jim's perception of "advertising" for us being a good one. I'll admit that we often turn a simple "hey, TW got this in stock today..." into a gripe session, and we should stop doing that. But (legitimately, I think), he could drastically improve his saltwater tanks if only they got a little bit more maintenance and he changed out a few pieces of equipment. That said, I DO buy stuff there (like we all do) and I'm in there all the time looking at stuff. I mean, I wanted to buy something there just a couple days ago, even...

Got back from Tropic a little while ago. Not much new for fish since I was last there a few days ago, though there was a GORGEOUS McCosker's Flasher Wrasse there. No idea what the price on it is, since it wasn't posted on the tank and I didn't ask. But it was a real beauty. As far as corals, the one 54g tank has a few nice looking sps frags in it. Mostly blue-tipped acro on those frags, though I did see a pink Pocillapora and one or two others. The other 54g corner tank has softies in it. Prices were $69.99 for pretty much everything in the frag tank with the sps, but I didn't look at the price(s) for stuff in the other tank.
The huge corner display tank is...coming along slowly. There's a BTA in there now, but it's attached to the bottom side of a rock and not getting much light, just like mine. lol There are a couple mandarins in there, one as big as DJ's new one. Not much for corals yet, but I think the tank needs to mature more, as it's having some algae issues right now. Oh, and there's a MASSIVE arrow crab in there, but I know most of you in ECRC reading this right now have already been there in the last couple days and seen all of this...

Actually, $52 is a good price for a flasher wrasse at a LFS. If only I had $52....hehe. I usually see them priced around $60 or $70, so that's a really great price for a beautiful fish. Also, it's a BIG McCosker's, too. Not one of the smaller ones you see most times.
That arrow crab used to be DJ's??? That thing is absolutely enormous. How did it ever fit in DJ's tank?!?!

I don't mind paying $70 for a coral frag, but it's gonna be a realllllly nice frag for that price. Not a simple blue tip acro or a pink cat's paw or anything else like that... I really would have bought that McCosker's in a flash (bonus points for a good fish tank pun???), but I'm short on cash until Friday, and I'm sure it won't be there anymore at the end of the week. Oh well. I've always liked flasher wrasses, and may very well keep four or five males of different species in my tank so that they're always "displaying" for each other and adding some dramatic splashes of color to the tank.
