Picked up a red serpent star at Tropic today. I had a good laugh when I asked her to feed it and she said that "it already ate this morning." AKA she wasn't willing to take 30 seconds to drop some food in there so I could make sure the star was eager to "sense" food and eat...
But, she picked up the fake rock thingy that the star was under, and the star took off and scurried around the tank while she tried to catch it. So, I could see it was in good condition.
Also, when she picked up the rock, she released an ungodly large amount of detritus into the water column. They need more flow in their coral tanks, since the SCWD and one Koralia just aren't doing it, and the tank is bare-bottom.
What else was new...hmm... The huge corner tank needs fish in it. There are two mandarins in there right now and the arrow crab, but that's it. A few corals, but not too many at this time. Their BTA that they put in there is badly bleached out, but just like mine, I'm hoping that over a long period of time it will slowly acclimate to the high lighting and make a good recovery.
Oh, the McCosker's flasher wrasse was gone. Did someone here in
ECRC get it? If it had been there, I'd totally have bought it!
