No, John doesn't have a clue when it comes to saltwater.. Yes Johns prices are much better then Jim's but as you can see from his store he doesn't sell SW fish.
But Hey if you want to buy Trump the game from 1987 he has it still sealed in the original box.... Plus 10 more of them there.

Don't get me wrong John is great to go for FW (i've dealt with John, and Judy for along time)and can be decent about special orders.
This is for a fowlr tank only right? I would stay with just basic lighting. Thats me though and since your going to upgrade to the 125 in 3 months I would save the money thats going to cost alot more.

no????
i know john doesnt deal much with saltwater other than orders.....he is just starting to stock some stuff due to people comin in and orderin stuff and asking about stuff...
he has his 200g or whatever it is tore down right now....maybe setup a salt?? i noiced he had a butt load of salt, sand and some other stuff sittin around it.....but that may just be stuff for stock....
granted im gona upgrade to a bigger tank but the 75g will still be a salt tank and will need lighting as well.....we'll see what happens....

to me a fowlr tank just needs basic lighting. I could be wrong there but I have knowen a few people to keep them under standard single bulbs(an eclipse tank even), Although my lights I did get from a fowlr tank. They were told that they needed it. I'll try to stop over there soon and check this stuff out but I just know he tried to sell me an actinic light setup once for my fw planted tank,
with that said to, if you really want to put higher lights on the tank you can up it to the 48" pc's for half that price( the one that was pm'd to you)

ill probably just stick with the PC lights on it...
i added a 30watt 420nm actinic coral life bulb to it today......really made the tank change colors.....pretty weird lookin when ya turn off the 50/50 bulb.....that blue is something else....
the polyps seem to like it they seem a lil more perky under that light....

you gave me a reason to head over to thompsons tonight. OK what I found was a coralife 48" pc setup for 299(This is the same as the PM one except new and has a higher profile wattage is the same.) and a 36" for 229.99 I also saw the 48" t5 lighting. It was only 28 watts and was 62.99. I must add though that that one is basically a throw-away setup (per Coralife rep from the past summer at F&S) there are no replacement parts, and needs to be on a covered tank. Otherwise it will rust. But hey they sent me a new one anyway. Thats why I use one and the first one I got for 10.00
oh yeah and as to why the tank was empty, it sprung a leak in it. They said it was due to the construction going on. The fish that were in it are in some of the other tanks there.

dj...
I'll have a set of 48" vho's in a month or two up for sale. The fixture is acrylic/plastic, and runs 4x110vho bulbs (currently 2 uri actinic and 2 uri 50/50 bulbs). It's overdrives with two icecap 430 ballasts on waterproof endcaps, and cooled by a new (this summer) fan. I grow pretty much everything under this light in my 90g, spfties, shrooms, zoos, monti's, acros, clams, etc. I do have a few other people who have mentioned interest, but no commitments. Again, I'll sell it when my new lights are in, hopefully by thanksgiving. I think Aaron might have seen it a few years ago?

It really depends on what you want to keep in the reef.
