Don't go to a petstore. Just wait for the meeting and have Chuck bring you 10gal. of his water. He is the one who started this club so its the least he can do I love volunteering others . Otherwise we can break in to Loris and Jeffs once we found out where they live and still some of their pristine water. Of course if you like the natural look of the ocean and want to duplicate it in your tank, I would love to give you as much of my water as you want (and the beautiful green hair algae will be free of charge) Let me know....

I have not and thats why I have the hair algae in my tank. It would be nice to get an R/O unit if you can fit it your budget but if you are thinking about a fish only tank my PERSONAL opinion is that you will do fine with city water. You will need to add some dechlorinators and some essential elements but city water will do. The rest of you reading this take a deep breath and dont start shooting nasty responces . That is my opinion. If you need to find a good R/O unit at a reasonable price ask Tim DevilBoy where he got his

I have an aquatic store not a petstore Actually it is not even a store. It is more of an excuse to store all my tanks and play with my fish, just dont tell my wife. I think in order to be a store I have to try to sell stuff to people and tell them that they do need the best R/O unit in the market, the most expensive filter and light (that I know they can not afford) and when something goes wrong deny any wrong doing and blame them. That should be my mission statement posted in my walls . By the way I am sorry now I have to charge you for this reply as well You will be receiving an invoice in your PM inbox. I am having too much fun with this smiley faces. I better stop before they start charging me for every time I use them

I'm rather anal when it comes to salt and mixing. I've used all the other salts and have stuck with Oceanic. It dissolves better, mixes better and is much more stable. I've not had any trouble with flucuating pH or Ca++ precipitating out. All my water is through a RO/DI 4stage first, then Osmo Prep and heated to tank level. Fresh sea water is always caustic and needs to stabilize for no less than 2 days. Adjust your buff 1st, then add Ca++ and trace elements. I don't believe in short cuts. Your corals and inverts are worth the extra time.
