OT: Wisconsin Dell worth the trip?

My wife has been nagging me to bring the family to see Wisconsin Dells,
is it worth the trip, we're planning to rent a mini-van and drive from Saint Paul, MN.

Any suggestions and insights will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Beng

we go there a bit. It can be a bit expensive. The indoor water parks are very nice! There is a very nice state park there. Good fishing and lots of stuff to do. If you go, you have to eat at Ishnala! Great food overlooking the state park lake. The files is also a good Fields to eat. Great stake and good lobster bisque. There is also mt Olympus. A roller coaster/ go cart park. lots of fun there. The duck rides are fun too. If you want more info im me and I can help. any ideas where u r staying?

Thanks Super633 for the info.
The kids want to camp out but the wife insist on staying in a hotel.
As a result, no set plans yet but will be bringing camping gear just in case.

Many Thanks,

Beng

My brother and his family go there every year for a family vacation. They all love it. I've been there once - it was fun. It's changed a lot since I've been there, so I can't really comment a lot about it myself.

We have stayed at Treasure Island Hotel a few times with the kids. They had a blast! We always stay there in Feb. or March though when the rates are lower

if you have kids find cupons to stay at a water park.
just adult you can stay at the blackhawk its cheap clean and close to the action.
a room at teh black hawk last time we were their was around 50 bucks a night.

they have kitchenetts as well.
a lot of the gas stations around here have coupon books for sale too.
the upper dells tour is more interesting but you get a better deal if you buy both upper and lower the more you buy the better the price is .

Beng,
You can probably satisify both your kids needs to camp and your wife's interest to stay at a motel and check out Jelly Stone Camp Ground in Warren's Wisconsin. It might be hard to book a night there, but it should be worth it. Its a little drive from the Dells, but can easily go to the Dells with little travel time. Just a thought.

http://http://www.dellsjellystone.com/index/events Davis is right. Jelly Stone is a good woodsy place near the dells. The cabin are nice. Also it gives you asses to mirror lake. GOOD BASS AND PAN FISH. another cheaper clean motel is the relax Inn. about 60 a night.
