New Clown

Well I bought another clown from Greg, and his little white sebea anemone. The anemone is doing great, but the poor clown is getting beat on by my bully skunk clown. My plan was to have the two percula clowns go to one side of the tank and have the skunk on the other side. The stupid perc's keep going over by the bully skunk. So my next grand plan was to get another skunk clown, and maybe the one I have would mellow out now that he has a partner. That hasn't seemed to work out my way either. Now I have two bully skunk clowns. The good thing is they look good together. Frolicing in the anemones. I wish I knew a way to keep the perc's on the other side of the tank. Any Ideas?? I went out and bought a little 5 gallon cheapo at wal-mart. Filled it up with my tank water, and have it on stand-by. Don't want the perc's to get killed, but don't know what to do.

I really want to put perculas in my new 75 tank when it's up and running, but I don't want to try it because it generally doesn't go well when you mix clowns as you've seen. Even with anemones my 2 tomatoes are hosting, I'm not sure it would work. Sorry I don't have any great advice for you, but you really can't do anything to counter the workings of nature. It's unfortunate, still, because multiple clown species in a tank would be a really nice look.

mix up the rock work so that the bully does not feel it is his turf, and pray for the best. As was mentioned above it is really hard to keep different species of clowns together, and even harder to do so if you do not introduce them at the same time, but if you mix up the rock, change stuff around, then they are kinda on equal ground, but still far from a guarantee of compatibility. Also, tank raised clowns are most likely to play nice, as opposed to WC clowns. Hope that helps.

I have had success with the two clown species so far. The perc and the skunk got along fine. They both had an anemone, though the skunk wanted both of them lol. Problems happened when I wanted to add another perc. Now I have two skunks and two percs in my 75. It was a rough start, but they are doing better now. The one perc is still an outsider though. When I peek in in the morning I see a skunk in one anemone, and a skunk and the perc in the other anemone. The other perc hangs out by a power head above the anemone. I was going to try and move rock around, but it is so hard. Moved a little , but not a signifigant move. Here are a couple of bad pics of the new clowns. Seems like my percs are starting to take a liking to my hammer lol. I am also throwing in a pic of how big my purple LTA looked today.

Well I am happy to say it has been a week with the new clowns, and all is well. They don't seem to fight much anymore. A little chasing here and there, but that is about it. The perc has checked out the new anemone a couple of times, but seems to be more interested in the hammer coral for now.
