Hello everyone,
For those of you who don't know me, I am David I live in Eau Claire and an a senior at UW-EC studing business. I have a 20 g fish only tank right now and am in the process of turning it into a reef tank I have one
blue damsel (which I hate) and a bachlor
maroon clown.
Here is what I have going so far:
just picked up 25 lbs of mixed live rock, has very good corelline (sp??) algae
Recieved my 175W 15k MH ballast and pendent, will hang that next week
Bought a used HOB over flow and MAG 3 to make a sump.
I will get a new 20 g tank and use that as my display, and take what is now my display that is very scratched and make that into my 20g sump, and put all of my equipment down there (heater, skimmer, kalk topoff). I just got a SCWD and will get a MAG 7 sometime to make a closed loop for more water movement.
My goal is to keep a mixed reef with some softies, LPS, and eventually SPS in it.
How does everything sound so far? Any suggestions?
Oh, does anyone know any good place to buy sand at around here? Menards only has a brownish looking stuff and I want to do this on the cheap (AKA no "live sand" for LFS).
Thanks for looking and your input!
David
