It's worth checking eBay. I got 1/2lb of live red gracilaria for about $20 with shipping.
http://stores.ebay.com/Exotic-Aquatics-and-Pets is the seller I got it from; they also sell mangrove seedlings, various other algaes, and some really odd plants from time to time.
I also found (and bought) a gallon bag full of Green
Grape Caulerpa from another seller. Generally, you don't have to pay for overnight shipping on most macroalgae; just priority with a heat pack. A lot of varieties ship quite well.
Heh, and both of mine came with quite a few little critters still alive on them (snails and pods mostly),
