Looking for a RO filter.
Does anyone have an RO and/or DI filter for sale?

For starters, you need to be more clear about what you're looking for. Are you talking about just an RO membrane, or are you trying to find a complete system? Either way, your best bet is to buy one online from a reputable dealer. I bought my system from a company called Purely H2O down in Florida, but there are several others out there with good reputations among reefers.
Also, you'll want a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter, as that's how you verify your RO/DI system to functioning optimally. They can be inexpensive, or quite costly, depending on how many features you want in it. My basic TDS meter came with my RO/DI unit from Purely H20.

There are some reasonable filters on ebay. I bought mine from aqua-safe systems out of Canada and have had no problems at all.

A whole system.......for RO water that is.
I'm still wet behind the ears.
I need a whole RO system. 2 stage will get the job done.
50 gpd would suffice.
Looking for the most bang for not too many bucks.

IMO, a 4-stage unit will get you farther than a 2-stage. Sediment filter, carbon block filter, then RO membrane, followed by a vertical DI canister with quality resin. There's certainly nothing wrong with a 2-stage unit, but you'll get better water out of the 4-stage, and it'll last longer with the sediment filter. Of course, you'll pay more for a 4-stage unit than a "bare bones" one. If money is a problem right now, you can always get a RO unit with a carbon block filter, and then add a sediment filter and nice DI stage at a later time.

it depemds on your quality of water. i recently purchased a 6 stage filter and spent alot of money. then i purchased a TDS meter. only to find out that my water after R/O was 0. if your TDS is under 120ppm prior to filtering you may not need a DI. HOWEVER and i am saying HOWEVER. I lucked out and live in a town with a brand new state of the art water treatment plant so water quality is good. my pretreated water was only 79ppm. this is the eception and not the rule. its not uncommen to get TDS levels in the 300+ area. but what will happem if you use just a R/O filter than your water and tank will look great FOR about a while. then your tank will start to have algea problems. trust me my broher tried it using my tap water @ 78ppm and he did good for 3 months then BOOM or shall i say BLOOMM.

After three stages (sediment, carbon, RO membrane), my TDS is also zero. However, I don't let that stop me from sending it through the DI chamber just because I can. :-) Worst-case scenerio, the water doesn't have anything removed by the DI resin, but I figure there are probably a few things in there that could make it through the RO. So, I use DI just because I can.
IIRC, my tap water here in Eau Claire, WI is somewhere around 120-130.

Hi Blake,
Do you still have the RO filter?
How many stages and gpd? I'm heading for EC today.
