If you want a bit of sand from my DSB in my 20 gallon, it's yours free of charge. It's seeded with a few different cultures from Indo Pacific Sea Farms, and has micro stars and bristleworms and other things in it, though I can't guarantee a small sample will contain much diversity with micro life in it ...

Let me know if you're interested, I can meet you at Greg's with it if you'd like.

if anyone is interested in going together to buy a bag of sand... i'd be willing to group on the cost. i could also use a couple of cups of sand for my nano tank. i currently have the live gravel in it but, would like to add some sand. anyone interested?

Petunia, you're welcome to a couple cups of sand from my live sand bed. Let me know. I don't need any more sand for a while, but in the future if you're interested I'd split an order with you.

i would be willing too take as much as you want to give me Joe...

Petunia, the only sand that comes in bags is with bacteria. it really is not considered live sand.

DevilBoy, I'll send some sand your way. Probably around 2 cups worth. No problem. I could get it to Greg's tomorrow afternoon anytime between 3pm and 6pm. If you want to get it from me Monday afternoon, let me know a good time that works for you.

Also, are you the guy I met in Greg's store on Saturday afternoon? Or was that someone else ...? Baaahhh, too many people to meet now through the Reef Club!!! :-)

I'm done with class at 2:30. I'll run home, bag up a little sand, and head right over to Greg's store. I should be there right around 3, depending on traffic on Clairemont. So, I might be a few minutes late.

See you at 3,
Joe

What if I decide to close the store and go for happy hour? After all those comments about my hair algae in my tank I think I need a drink or two . AAAhhhh.... who am I kidding. The wife would kill me if she would find out. I will see you guys at the store around 3pm. Joe I will take any frags you have to spare. Tim your salt is on its way. Later everyone I have to go stare at my hair algae

We're just kidding about the hair algae ... :-) Everyone has algae problems at some point.

If you're really looking to kick it, I'd start with frequent water changes and make sure you're getting lots of skimmate out of your skimmer. You've got lots of fish in there, so lots of waste is being produced. You may want to put in a bigger skimmer and more filtration to help get the waste out of there if you're going to keep that many fish in there long-term.

I'll bring a frag or two of candy cane at 3pm when I stop by.
