Welcome to ECRC, Matt. It sounds like you have a couple nice tanks. I'm not a member of "The Tang Police," but I am concerned about you having three tangs in your 75. Tangs get quite large, so hopefully the three are small right now in your 75. Tangs need lots of swimming room in addition to getting so incredibly huge, so I strongly urge you to think about putting one of the tangs in the 55 gal if possible, and most likely finding a new home for one of the two remaining tangs in the 75 gal over time.

I sounds like your two tanks are running without sumps. If that's the case, I understand the need for a hang-on protein skimmer. However, I've owned a Prizm skimmer, and while it will pull the nasties out, unfortunately I know that it's not nearly enough skimming power for a 55 or 75-gallon tank. Hopefully it's producing lots of gunk for you in the collection cup, because you'll need every ounce of skimming power on your two tanks. You may want to consider a larger skimmer down the road, but I know that skimmers are expensive and you're probably not Oprah rich or anything...

If you can, you should post some pictures of your setups for everyone to view.

Again, welcome to ECRC,
Joe

yeah i really dont like the skimmers at all i plan on going to a sump but i am going to wait awile. I have been doing alittle research on sumps but i still have alot more research to do. I understand about the tangs and I dont plan on having anymore fish in the 75 and the tangs are loving it they have alot of hiding places, but when they get bigger the yellow will be going to the 55 forsure.
