green puffer acclimated

well it took a week of VERY VERY slow drip acclimation but i got him in a somewhat brackish tank for now...the salinty in there reads 1.015 and he is doing great....

ive tried puffers befre in my fresh tanks but never been able to get them to live...but this guy has been going for 2 weeks now and loved his ghost shrimp....

he has come to recognize me and swims to the front of the tank when im near and then to the top and you can hear a faint "BARK" comin from him begging for food!!!!!

im gona let him grow up and then reaclimate him to a full salt tank....but that will be along time from now.....

i read on them a bit a found out that they thrive better in salty brackish water than they do fresh.....just wonder how the breeders do it cuz i know they dont just dump them from brackish to fresh for the stores to sell....

actually when they are small they do great in straight FW as they mature they need to get more brackish to salt water conditions. In full saltwater that is when I have seen them the brightest though. in my 30 fw I had 6-8 of them at one time (figure 8's, spotted, and dwarf) in a full planted tank (0 salt)
