cpr skimmer issues
aight i dont know if its always done it or what but the skimmer is dumpin bubbles into the tank,,,,,,,
dont know if im just seeing them now under the new lights or what......
heres what i do know........
when i first hooked it up had both maxi 1200 running and in the return chamber the water level met the top of the bubble trap for the return tube and then emptoed into and the walter level in it stayed about 4in from the top....
well tonight when i got behind it to look at all that the return chamber was slam full of water along with the bubble trap......
i unplugged one of the maxi's and the level dropped......i plug it back in and it fills everything right back up.........
any ideas on why this would just start happening???
do i need to pull it off and clean the whole system???

You could have something clogged inside of it... I would check the tubes....

there could be a few different things. Did you put on the bubble reducer part? that was the clear tube with the adaptor in the box. What is your deffinition of pouring bubbles. Are they big, small? You can also adjust the valves that connect with the maxi's. Remember its a hob so some bubbles will probably enter in the tank. My skimmer in my sump lets out bubbles into the sump. Before it goes into my tank it has to travel through cheato, and filter media before it enters the tank. That eliminates my bubbles.

yeah i put the bubble trap thing on there......its a butt load of fine bubbles coming into the tank....kinda like an airstone puts out....
i dont know what the deal is with it....like i said when i first hooked it up it worked fine both pumps running and it never filled the return chamber above the bubble trap......and now with both runnin it fills the chamber within an inch or so of the top of the skimmer......dont know if that matters or not but it didnt do it in the beginning....
with just one maxi running there is very few bubbles entering the tank that can be seen but with both runnin you can see them......
ive adjusted the valves and adjusted them and all it does is change the bubbles in the collection chambers.....

you could pick up a flow restrictor to put between the tubing and the skimmer off of one of the powerheads... I have one between my MJ 900 and my Phosban Reactor *although I keep in about 90% open anyhow*
*If you need pics of what I'm talking about I can snap one for you*

sounds like there must be a clog or something in there. lift the skimmer outlet above the water level and see how the water is coming out of there. I wouldn't put any flow restrictions on the mj's. That skimmer is desigened to run 2 1200's. Also post on Cpr's forum, they may not get back till next week now since its weekend.

See I didn't know the skimmer was designed for two... In my previous post I suggested checking for a clog... Didn't know if that was checked or not.
