Anyone have cheto?

I know Chuck had some, but that was a month ago.

We FINALLY got a 10 gallon refugium set up and so far it's just got a few specs of live rock and 1lb of gracilaria.
Some chaeto would be quite nice for color variation and for just plain function.

At this point we're not planning to have fish/invert life (on purpose) in it until we get it more well established, so it's just the plants.
Even with the gracilaria & LR bits, it still looks pretty bare.

I know Chuck should have some, but if he doesn't I could give you a small handful of mine. Be careful with chaeto and gracilaria running so close to each other. I know lots of people do it, but I've read on Reef Central of an instance or two where the algaes "hated" each other and were causing more harm than good in the system. Go for it, but be sure to keep an eye on the algae and make sure that both species are growing vigorously for nutrient export. If they're not then something is wrong. I run just chaeto and it grows like a weed in my hang-on 'fuge as it pulls out nutrients and other unwanted crap from the water.

I would second what Joe said about the algaes not doing well together. I had red gracilaria together with chaeto in my 20 gallon fuge/sump and after about a month or two all the gracilaria rotted and fouled up the whole sump. I cleaned it out and now just run chaeto and mangroves in my sump and all is well.
