72gal Bowfront at an auction this weekend

Hello fellow members. I thought I should let you know that I have just donated a 72gal AGA Bowfront for an auction that will be going on at EauClairesquare.com. The link I believe is the following
http://www.eauclairesquare.com/auction.cfm . The last time I participate it on an event like this someone got a $200 gift cerificate for $30. So I figured out I dont want someone getting the set up for $100 in order to put goldfish in there. If any of you are interested you might want to give it a shot. Just don't bid against eachother. The specifics of the tank are the following: 72 gal AGA Bow ,oak with a compact light (2 65W), it was a display tank in my store for about a month, the stand has a couple scratches underneath the tank, they are not visible. The photo should be up tomorrow around noon and I think the auction is going on until Sunday.

Thumbs up

72 gal bowfront

Greg,

That is very generous of you to donate a tank for the auction. I too hope it goes to a good home and becomes a beautiful reef tank someday. It's fun to see your business grow and the EC Reef Club take off like it has. It has to be very exciting for you too. I hope for great success for your business! Thanks for helping me get started with my tank.

Todd

Brian, a fifth tank will get you in bigger doghouse with the wife or girlfriend or significant other. If you have none of the above, it will significantly reduce the chances of ever having a wife (a happy one anyways) or a girlfrient or special other one . (A moment of pause and silence). I have to make sure my wife doesn't catch me writing this. A fifth tank will put another nice dent in your wallet. Your neighborghs will start to get suspicious of the glow of your actinic lights in your house and will propably call the authorities. If you are still not convinced a fifth tank will get you a good start to open your own little fish store and then Chuck will be there everyday to bug you . We can start franchising all around Wisconsin . Are you still thinking about it?

It was a rough day today so I put the kids to bed early and decided to have some fun. I should go to bed soon because this will turn into a comedy routine.

That's a bear????? I thought it was you after a night of Ouzo and Metaxa (remember the reference about growing hair on your chest). How do I get one of those avatars?

I remember the wife complaining about getting the third tank (10gal) to put in my 5 yr olds room so we could switch our 29gal over to saltwater. A little less complaining about upgrading the 29 to a 45, as long as we would sell the 29. Very little about adding additional lights and a canopy to the 45 to turn it into a reef tank or about the 20 gal q-tank. Now she just says "You know where we stand with the money situation, can we afford it?" The answer is always ummmmmmm, sure, I mean yes. Now, whenever the wife asks me to help clean around the house if we are going to have visitors, I go around and clean all the fish tanks while she gets to pick up the toys.

Most of our neighbors must already be suspicious. The house just glows at night. We did straighten one out though. Just the other day, my wife was talking to a neighbor. She was telling my wife that a few days earlier while driving past our house, one of her kids said "Mom, they have a big screen TV in their livingroom" She almost fell over when my wife said that the FISH TANK in the living room that they saw was the small fish tank, and the one in the basement is three times bigger.

Brian I envy you. It sounds like you have "conditioned" (See Pavlov's experiment, little bell, food, puppies) your wife to see past your addiction. Mine on the other hand made me open a fish store to take those "green covered" tanks (hair algae) out of our house. I wish you could join us this morning for coffee and donuts but unfortunately you are a 2-hour drive away, or better off you have a job unlike some of us Think about the franchise, we can call it "The Salt Addiction" or "The Ocean's Cult" "I would rather be a Puffer".
