Well, UPS finally managed to get me a package without something broken inside it!

But still there was a violent gash in the box ...
But the new XM 15K bulb arrived just fine, as did my new 20" SunPod fixture.
I decided to compare the output of my 10K bulb that's about 16 months old with the brand new 15K bulb. As you can see, the 15K is a much "crisper" blue light, as expected. It also makes the colors fluoresce (spelling?) quite a bit. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's awesome.
The Ushio 10K bulb was fairly yellow, and the yellow wall and yellow towel under the tank really didn't help with the photo. But, I'm pleased with the switch to 15K. I like the color better, even though it's a little less beneficial to the photosynthetic occupants of the tank.
Finally, I posted a picture of the 14K SunPod over a bin of live rock. It'll go on the tank as soon as I get some 16.5" strips of acrylic to make braces to mount the light on. I could've gotten the 24" fixture and had it fit perfectly from one side to the middle brace, but this will save me some money in the long run. Plus, the 24" version didn't have any extra moonlights or anything else to make it mechanically different from the 20". I'll post pictures of the light on the 75gal tank once I get it on there.
That's it for now,
Joe
