You just have to meet the requirements to be a NIMAS member. Live in northern IN, like reefs, nothing really special to become a member I don't think. Really it's just a bunch of us from NIN that like talking to other local reefers. I'm not sure about over flows and sumps and junk. My filter is my skimmer and LR. I don't have any other filtering. I heard a lot of bad things about over flow boxes though. How they lose thier siphon and you have a mess. A friend at work has a box and only had one incident. He caught it before he had any water get on the floor. Did you ever figure out what lighting you are going with?

Depends on what you are looking to keep. 140w is not that much. You can DIY a nice one for about that much $$$ if you have a canopy. There are ballast out there for about $75, water proof end caps @ $12 x 4, bulbs @ $20 a piece, and the time to wire it up right and attatch to canopy. So you can have 4 bulbs. The 48" bulbs are 110w I believe. I'm not sure about the 60". Oh and individual reflectors for each bulb. Not sure on the price of those. The ballast can get pricey as well. Depends on what brand. Just make sure it is enough to run your lights.
