Hello Everyone,
Hope you all have a great 4th of July weekend. We're just relaxing here and enjoying two days off in a row.
Well, we've been open about 3 months now, and we're extremely happy with how we've been received. We've made a lot of friends, and we're constantly meeting new people who discover us by accident on their way to Sam's. (Thank you Sam's).
A few things to mention... One, we've got quite a great selection of salt and freshwater fish as always. We're going to be building up a little more this week as our 20% off Saltwater, 50% off FW, and 20% off live rock sale is happening again July 15-17.
We're also adding inverts this week and next as well. Our system is fully cycled, so we're adding items slowly, but we should have a pretty decent selection of inverts as well by the sale date.
We continue to add new products as people ask for certain brands and express interests in items they can't find. We recently started selling live brine shrimp and blackworms, and we now carry Marc Weiss and Ocean's Blend products in addition to our existing Kent, Coralife and Seachem reef products.
Finally, we replaced our RO/DI system with a Kold Ster-il system because we we were having a hard time keeping up with our own demand, let alone making any filtered water available to the public! I spent a lot of time reading about the Kold Ster-il product, and (with the add-on to remove phosphate) I think it provides water that's nearly as good as RO water. (IMHO, at least!) At any rate, we plan to make it available to the public (fresh water at 20 cents a gallon, and
Instant Ocean salt water (1.022) at 35 cents per gallon. We should have this in place within the next two weeks.
Ok, so other than our 265 gallon display tank looking like a biotope from near the Three Mile Island plant because the tank turned out to be a leaker and I was making a statement for the manufacturer, the store is looking pretty good. Supposedly, the manufacturer is coming to repair the tank this Thursday... Luckily we have a nice 90 gallon reef tank that at least gives people something to look at in our display area!
In the next month we'll be getting the display area looking really good. We're planning on adding an
African Cichlid tank, a planted tank and maybe even a plain old community tank to go along with our reef and fish only SW tank (leaky 265)... Then we'll need a bigger store if anyone wants to actually sit down to look at the tanks.
Well I guess I rambled on enough. If you haven't seen us yet, please consider this my personal invitation for you to visit us! Come check out our sale, stock should be the best it's been. See our website for directions or call us.
Happy 4th everyone.
Dave
