asheville aquarium

For those who have been to both the asheville and the tennessee aquariums,
which is the better to go. It's about the same time difference to get to either from where I live.
And the Ga aquarium won't be open untill Nov.. Wanting to bring daughter to one of them. She's only here thru june.

Asheville has an aquarium???

I can speak for the Tennessee aquarium, very nice, lots of info on native fish pops and biotopes native to Tennessee. Many exhibits have both the aquatic and terrestial habitats that coincide with a particular environmental location. The Tennessee aquarium has a website, should be easy to find.

Hello,

Just for your info, the Asheville Aquarium is a tropical fish store, not a public aquarium. The Tennessee Aquarium is very nice. We went pretty often when we lived in Atlanta.

Yes, it's worth the trip IMHO. They were adding a new building, effectively doubling the size of the aquarium, the last time I was there. It's an enjoyable day trip to go to Chattanooga, take in the aquarium, see the Imax and check out the local brewpubs and/or local fare. You'll like it. When we were moving from Atlanta, we were considering Chattanooga and Asheville (I liked Chattanooga for the area around the aquarium, but Asheville at the sime seemed bigger and more business friendly).
