too clean?

Is it possible to clean your tank too clean??
The other day after slammin a redbull, decided instead of just the norm. daily discus WC, I would tear apart everything for the "supercleaningsession" and I musta overcleaned out the bio or somthin cause man what a bloom we are havin now!!! Its like new-tank-syndrome or somthing... The bio I rinsed in tank water too, just the sponges, prefilters and hardware got the non-tank rinse out.
Beefed up the WC amounts/intervals in the last 2 days along with the help of my good buddy Amquel Im hopin things be better in the am...

Indeed you may be having a cycle. What you prolly did was remove too much bacteria. There is not enuff to do the process of Amon. to nitrites to nitrates. I would wait a cpl days on another wc and see what happens. Worst case you can do a smaller wc the next cpl days and not rince anything so as to let the bacteria regrow.

Hope all is well with you all
Jeff

Actually I trade my bike for a Pickup. Kinda hard to haul a boat around with a motorcycle hehehe. I do miss it though
