OOOO this new forum makes the so happy. Thanks everyone for deciding to add it!!!

My setup is a 46 bowfront RR with 20 gallon sump. I'm running it just like my reef. No artificial filtration, except carbon in a bag.

I added silty mud and plants from the lake to the sump to see if it works like the reef LS. and so far everything loks good. For the substrate in the main tank I use the lava rock from Lowe's. I thought it was pretty and at $4.00 a bag nicely priced!!! Also the porous rock helps with housing bacteria and critters. The same as LR in the reef does.

My lights are the Repti-sun UVB bulb, a Sun-Glo bulb and a smaller baskin light in a seperate fixture.
Over the sump I run my Freshwater PC's that I won from a club meeting at Aquarium Showcase in ATL. ( I knew sooner or later I would have a use for those things!!)

My water is pumped by a MAG 5.

THe cool thing about it being reef ready is that I was able to cut the overflow tube down to the level I wanted the water to stay.

So far my turtles are very happy, along with their platy, crawfish, and snail friends.

ok heres mine!

http://www.fishregistry.net/registryitem.asp?ID=208

i run hang on filter and undergravel filter run by two maxijet 400's. i seem to gravitate toward bottom feeders, they are just the most interesting fish! I do love my one open water swimmer, the pineapple swordtail though! i tried to keep the green swords but they went carpet surfing back in virginia. oh well.

I honestly dont think it will work in fw. The bubbles in fw will not be as fine as in sw and prolly will not make a foam. but Im not shure

Great thread!

I have a 150 AGA
I run a Magnum 305 Delux, just the canister and a FilStar XP3.
I also use a Lifgusrd Fluidized Bed filter and a UV Sterilizer.

Yeah, it's alot of filtration for a 150 but I have a larg Pleco that seems to put out more than he eats!!

I house 4 Oscars, 3 Red and an Albino Red.
1 Yellow-Orange Severum
! Bala Shark
2 Jack Dempseys
1 green Terror
1 Blue Eye'd Texas Cichlid
1 Upside down Cat

The tank has three large pieces of driftwood and plent of silk plants. I also added a few rocks in there too.
