stocking a 10 gallon


hey everyone my friend wants to know if she can add a few more fish to her 10 gallon freshwater tank. what she has now is a betta and 2 mollies. she has had these for a month now and wants to know how many fish could she add. if any of you have suggestions for fish please tell me. thanks

i would say 1....at most..i had worse though..when i first started i was told 1 fish per gallon..i had a silver shark,red tail shark,angelfish,rainbow shark,plecostamus, 2 glo fish and one of those green puffer fish....let me just tell you it wasnt a good idea ..=)ooo ya and this was in a 10 gallon!-drew

(PS. arent bettas supposed to be kept alone?)

bettas can be kept with other fish if the tank has plenty of hiding spaces well thats what i was told

I'm pretty sure the general rule is one inch of Adult fish per gallon. I would only recommend one more molly to beef up the school size a bit.

I have a 10g FW in my kids room. We have 5 fish and 2 shrimp in there. All seem very happy.

Bettas can be kept with most fish, but other bettas are out of the question and gouramis can also be a problem.
