sick loaches?

my sister had this 10g tank and she had some guppies in it. i think the tank had ich and I treated it. only 1 survivor, a pregnant female. she had her babies, and then she died. 7 babies grew up. they seemed fine. i took the 4 males and put them in my 29g fresh tank. I had a yoyo loach that grew big and was doing fine. i then saw 2 more yoyos at my lfs so i bought them. a few days later i noticed that one of the males was not doing well, breathing a little heavy, inactive. he died. now my largest yoyo is breathing fast and hiding. mostly in the tank are loaches, dojos, kuhli and yoyo. have a betta, a swordtail, and three guppies.

not being sure if i have ich, and knowing that Rid-Ich is less safe for scaleless fishes (loaches are scaleless, arent they?), what should I do?????

you are correct about the scaleless I have in the past used 1/4 treatment and worked out fine. I would water change water change and water change. Remember bunch of small ones are easier on the fish than a cpl large ones. Good luck

You might want to try the salt treatment recommended here:
http://loaches.com/salt.html
It's supposed to kill most parasites - and since you're not sure you have ich tham might be a good thing.

well, i read that they are sensitive to high nitrates and like a temp not to exceed 75, so i did a water change and lowered the temp. maybe I will do a series of water changes over the next few days with RO water (they like soft water too) and see if that helps. if its ich, then at least i am removing egg cysts and freeswimming parasites when I vacuum/water change. will keep you posted.
