Question

Puffers?

Hello, I am debating on buying some puffers and have a 55
gallon soon to be set up. I am looking a 3 puffers, I have been
told that any Barb fish is good to mix with those fish. I am not very familiar with these fish, what they eat, and their enviornment. Can anyone give me info on these?

interesting, i have not heard that. i did not think barbs were brackish. i will try and hunt down some info on that. also most barbs tend to be fin nippy. i would think that would be bad for a slow moving puffer.

puffers will bite right back...eventually the puffers will have bigger teeth, then the barbs will get smaller and more raggedy looking....

at least thats how my puffers would act....the little imps.

Most fish IMO will benifit from some salt in the water. Im not too shure without a longer aclimation the barbs will make it in a brackish tank. As stated above the puffers will prolly eventually munch on the tails of the barbs. If ya wanna try it just keep an eye on who is the agressor and have pleanty of hiding places for escape.
