pregnant platy

My dad has a 25g tank with various tetras, rasboras and a few platies and some other stuff...
Well there is a platy that seems to be pregnant. Well it's been huge for about a month and in a breeding net.

But no babies yet and still huge... I was there a little while ago and it looked pregnant to me (could see the eyes of the babies)

well any idea what's up with this... they put it back in the main display... should they put it back in the breeder net?

I would prolly leave her in the net for maybe another week at max. Those nets are stressful to them. Once she has the babies remover her and leave the fry in there.

Thanks Jeff
yeah she out of the net right now since I think she's been in there about a month and that seemed too long to me
I don't remember it being this long of time with our previous pregnant platy

so you figure I should get them to put her back in the net for a week?

If you do manage to save all the babies what will you do with them? (we are talking about possibly 200 fish) Not to mention taking the poor fish in and out of this net has to be stressfull.

I know it sounds like I am being mean here, but I leave my fish to have the babies in the tank, those that survive are the fastest, smartest, or best. I give them to friends, they are always happy to get my fish.

I know I should be more PC but I thought I would throw this out there, I spent some time breading fish for the fun of it, but the LFS could never take all I had raised. It would be diffrent if I was raising Discus of course, but tiger barbs, neon tetras, guppies, ect,....

Well the fish ended up getting some fungus and died
too bad

Whiskey you don't really sound mean to me but more so realistic... honestly I don't know if I'd be able to find someone to take a few hundred fish.
