It’s coming along pretty good, The main reason I set it up was to have a use for my RO/DI waste water! So far it seems to be working out pretty good, Along with the 100lbs of crushed coral that’s in the sump I have been able to keep the PH around 8.2 & the GH hardness up around 15~18.

I don’t have a digital camera yet! But even if I did it would be hard to get any pic’s of my "African Bullets". I have lots of rock work with caves & such. The only time they seem to come out is when the lights are off or when I feed them! That’s when they become little bullets! Shooting out of the rocks grabbing food then back into the rocks. I only have 4 fish in there for now, so I’m just letting the wet-dry filter build up a good biological base right now. Maybe in a month or so I will add a bunch more Africans which should help with the hiding!

nice pics and nice fish. My red belly piranha that are residing in my 75 gal are about ready to get served an eviction notice to make room for the discus I'm going to be stocking it with.

Breeding Discus

Do you breed discus now or are you still waiting on an ro unit? I used to breed discus in FL, I miss them a lot, but I can only have so many tanks! (Got a 55 reef, 10 gall nano, and in the process of getting a seahorse tank and a 150 gal for non-reef fish) I agree RO is the only way to go. Our well water is nasty here too. Not so much of a problem with the marine though... In Florida, the pH was like 8.5 so RO was mandatory. (great for other cichlids though!) I always ran bogwood, and slate in my tanks with the live plants and they bred like rabbits! Keep sending pics of the discus. If you get into breeding them I may have an excuse to get a discus tank, gotta support the local fish breeders! ;-)

wow they have grown ALOT in the last few months, I will get some new pics posted when I get home from work tonight.

Lexi,
The two largest paired off sometime back and now spawn about every 5 days need to get them into a breeding tank to have any chance of success.
Did you get my PM about the brittlestars?
