Talking

If you had a 20 and a 10 lying around, what would you do?

I happen to have a 20g and a 10g. The 20g has 2 African cichlids, but i know of a home for them(not the porcelin one ) and am wondering if there is any really cool fish or frogs or something that i could put in those?

not knive fish they get to big. A school of blue neons, black neons, green neons would really be pretty, in a planted tank.

Yes I agree with tangcrazy a tetra planted tank would be cool. With a planted tank the smaller fish really look cool in schools flowing from one side to the other.

There is always the Apisto's they are a dwarf cichlid that doesnt get large and are really beautiful.

Yup that would be great. However remember ya will need to aclimate the light to a fw just as you do to sw. Meaning short lighting at first then ramp it up weekly or youll have a algae bloom big time

Personally, I would use the 10 as a sump for the 20 and make a nice nano-reef, but that wouldn't fit this forum.

Only problem is the dual Mh 175watt ballast and bulbs i have i was gonna save for the future 50g. I was trying to find something really cool i could do in Freshwater without expensive lighting. But i could still use the 10 as a sump

YA can make a beautiful tank without having to spend a bunch on equipment and stuff. Heck Tetra's are nice Apisto's are nice and fairly priced and can be kept under normal lighting

How many tetras would fit in a 20g, with a little bit of water?
