Hi I'm new

Hope i've posted this in the right place..

Hi to those that know me from BoF and to those who don't, I'm Kristie, I live in the UK and I have a tropical fish tank, currently containing:
2x large silver dollars
1x large black angel
1x common plec
1x albino rainbow shark
1x keyhole cichlid
1x zebra loach
2x shrimps (very small, transparant, and not sure what they're called..)
2x penguin tetras

Now, my angel keeps getting white spot. I've treated the tank 3 times in as many months, yesterday I see he's got it again
Ive used protozin and also specific white spot treatment. I am at my wit's end with the situation.
I'm thinking of doing a massive water change - would that be the right thing to do?

thanks for any advice you can give!

Kristie

Hello

You may wanna try to put some uniodised aquarium salt in the water per the directions on the box. This sometimes helps the fish grow a better and healthier slime coat.

Glad to mee ya

Jeff

Yup, it is meant to mimick the natural salt in river systems. use the same sale that goes in a water softener. 1 tbsp per every 5 gallons. that should really help. how big is the tank?

cool. try the salt it should really help. you should also have the temperature in the tank at about 80-82 to help combat the infection. don't add any more medications to the water. look at doing a 50% water change by the weekend to help remove the nasties.
