hmmmm... all I can think of is when I had a gauromi that got pretty backed up from eating snails, but doubt that is the case for your betta...

I would stop feeding for now if you allready have not, at least a few days??

Good luck..

I dont have a clue about what it is. My advise would be try an anti bacterial med. See how it does a cpl days after medication. Possiable a blockage but not sure. Let me do some searchin and see what I can come up with

Give me a few

i went to healthybetta.com and they had a little diagnosis thingy where they have a swollen abdomen but otherwise act normal (like my fish) and they said constipation. to fast for 24-48 hrs. and after that, feed a cooked, peeled pea on the end of a toothpick to the betta. after that, be sure to feed a varied diet, and not too much. fasting the betta for one day a week isnt a bad idea either to give them a chance to get all cleaned out.

too bad they dont make betta ex-lax.

the betta bites are little balls, i can see how it would be harder to digest than a flake or whatever. will keep you posted

Well, I have seen several goldfish sites that recommed giving a constipated fish a grain of epson salts. I have not tried this and it seems rather extreme.
