Anybody brackish?

Well I'm setting up a tank for some GSP or F8s and some bumblebee gobies.
Just had a few questions I hoped someone can answer.
First what do you consider the best way to cycle a tank like this.
I'm going to start it fresh and then slowly bring it up to about 1.010-1.015 since the fish are in fresh at the LFS.
At that salinity are there any plants that I can use?
Also what about some type of marine macro algae at that SG?
any input on these or other topics I should look out for would be great.
thanks all!
