Gettin' Salty!...

...as Doug1 would say. Here's a couple of pics of the finished product. All DIY except for the tank. It's got only 1/2 the sand for the rest of it and the LR will come from the other two tanks I'm consolidating. There's still some lat minute plumbing and electrical to do but it finally looks like a tank!

Here's the fist batch of water goin' in. The first is always the worst because I never really have my act together. Little spills here and there.

i totally LOVE it!!! i was wondering when i was gonna see the completed unit together with hood and tank! i really like the way you put in the "cover baord between the hood and stand in the bank of the tank. i had considered that, but wasn't sure how i often i'd need to get to the prefilter for changign the sponge etc..

kudo's- it looks fantastic!

Thanks all. An amature job at best, but woodwork and artistcthings in general are not my bag. I'm pretty happy with it though (can't you tell ? ).

BTW - I plumbed the return from the back over the top. They drop down into the tank with Loc-Line. Do you guys drill the Loc-Line to prevent the siphon in the return?

Fatman: The side plates are removeable via velcro. They provide no support for the hood. The only down fall is it in a corner and I cannot reach the far side from behind. The only thing that is over there are the cords for the MH in the hood that drop down to inside the stand.

Thanks!
Joe
