Supposedly the larger ones can and do get eaten, and taste like lobster, not chicken...

I definitely recommend the manits as a pet.....no he's not cuddly or affectionate.....but after a rough day at the office, throwing him a red thai crab or some silversides and watching him beat the crap out of his prey pretty much mellows out any violent tendancies.
Mantis are very smart, curious and have great personalities. George doesn't miss a thing that goes on in my house. The only unfortunate thing is that he has decided to co-habitate with the evil ****-sel......

How is that unfortunate? don't feed your mantis as much and eventualy he will get hungry enough.
