Harlequin Shrimp

Hey all, brand new to the forums. Everything looks great

I'm interested in getting a pair of these shrimp for my 60 gallon semi-reef tank. I've heard that they only eat starfish but other than that are relativly easy to keep. They seem a little high maintainence because of their eating habits but I really like how they look and how they pair up. I searched but only saw one post post from over a year ago. Does anyone have any experience with these guys?? Also would it be safe to "feed" them chocolate chip stars or will these damage the tank before the shrimp get them?? TIA

WELCOME TO TRT!

In my experience, they are best kept in a species tank.

I've got a customer who has one in a 10 and he buys chocolate chips every couple of weeks for him.

They are a gorgeous animal, but many are not willing/able to provide for them.

I think you'd see them and be able to appreciate them more, and have an easier time managing their feeding in a small setting.

I agree with what Jenn said. Also I might add ya wanna make sure they are indeed a pair otherwise things can get nasty between the shrimp.
