Crab I.D. ???
Any ideas??? It's in the fuge but I have 3 of my brother in law's fish in there. He had a tank crash and me and my nephew are fish sitting. I don't want anything to happen to them... I haven't added anything large enough lately for him to sneak in on so he must have been in the tank a long time...
Thanks, Eric...

Not positive, but it looks like a predatory type based on what I can see of the claw tips. The herbivorous types tend to have the cup shaped tips to the claws as opposed to the sharp points. A filter feeder would have the fine fan-like filements to strain the water with. Perhaps someone else will know more.

He eats meat. I coaxed him out of his hole with a piece of shrimp.
One pincer is larger than the other. Also the color in the first pic is correct.

He'd make a cool pet for a nano! Or trigger bait. Wouldn't keep it in a reef, he's small enough now not to notice much damage, but he could get bigger, and with the typical ravenous crab appetite......no telling what damage it could do.
