Question

what type of anenome is it???

doing some research on the web, ive noticed that Heteractis Malu is sometimes called the sebae anenome, but on other pages tthey call the h. crispa the sebae anenome and the malu a long tentacle....

just for clarification what is a common name for Malu?
and Crispa?

I don't know the common name, we always sold them as "Malu", they require very low light. Unlike most anemonies, these will die if you put them in too bright of light.

At least that what we experienced in the shop, as well as customers who purchased and placed in hi light tanks. Everyone perished. The ones that went into low light tanks with a healthy water flow did and are doing just fine.

Also, just so you know. The Malu anemonie likes to travel, ALL THE TIME. Very, very seldom do they stay in one place.

this is very strange!!

we purchased a "Clown anenome" that the guy thought was a Malu, it was a little stressed when we put it in our tank but as soon as the halides came on it perked right up
also we have 2 ocellaris that hosted with it within the hour, theyre not supose to host with that kind i thought.

i think we may need a better id on it.

oh yeah, and upon further reading... Sebae (white) is crispa, and Sebae (pink or purple) is malu according to the good doctor
