I don't have the best identification book but I believe one is a Magnificent sea anenome (
Heteractis magnifica) Flores Indonesia, it has long tenacles with yellowish tips. The other is a carpet anenome which in my book looks like a gigantic sea anenome (Sticholdactyla gigantea. Both of these sit comfortably on top of a ledge.
The other 3 are all long tenacles with a more tubular base. One is purple, one is pink and the other is whitish with pinkish tips. None of these 3 will stay on top of a ledge and gravitate towards the substrate between two mounds of live rock.
I've attached photos of the anenomes I have in case anyone can better identify the types that I have. Since the system will only let me attach one file per message I'll attach in 3 separate postings.
I'd appreciate ideas that I can try to get the long tenacle anenomes to stay on top of a ledger.
In particular I'm interested to hear how anyone uses PVC pipe as a base. I've thought of doing this but wasn't sure how well it would work. If someone is able to use a 1 inch pipe then the anenomes must be small as I estimate I would need at least a 4 inch piple to get the base of the anenomes inside.
