I wouldnt be too worried, but Id eventually try and get it on some rocks. Ive had two over the course of 4 years and they have both done some crazy morphs in short amounts of time and always looked normal when the lights came on the next day. I think this is a good gauge to an anemones health. You should definetly see a reaction to lights in the morning. If its tentacles come out and it wakes up your fine. If not its stressed and needs a change. Keep the post updated if tomorrow its not doing anything different.

Good Luck

it does it all the time, i just woke up and it is sucked in. the clown fish is trying to get in but the bta is not having it.

i imagin in a few hours the bta will open back up again.

like i said it does it at unpredictable times not just at night and not just during the day.

Do you feed him ?
I've had Anemones that wander around the tank, but never had any that retract completely unless there was something bothering them.

Normal response associated with feeding/gut evacuation, usually once a week to once a month, and may occur (USUALLY) at night when this activity is not observed.

Not to worry, In specimens that are well fed, stressors like changes in water quality/temp, physical damage, or stinging by competitors accompanied by this behavior signals impending asexual reproduction.
