starfish ID plz

can anyone ID this little star based on this photo? he's about .5" from tip to tip, coloring similiar on top but with slightly darker tan splotches. i have probably 100 of these guys in the tank, although this one is the most complete-most of the others are missing arms. they seem harmless enough so far, started noticing them about 4-5 months ago. I have crushed coral substrate, so not sure if they'd burrow if given the chance. anyway, and ideas would be appreciated.

you might look at the Garf Website...they have an article on those starfish...
http://www.garf.org/
I had a few of them in our 10 gal and I couldnt figure out why I was growing NO coraline...got rid of the stars and within a couple ofmonths my rocks were covered again....

Bob is right. Check out that link! They are predatory and will eat your corals. It may take a while but to get them, but you do need to. It sounds like you know this but they breed rather quickly too.

PS - Remember, not all things that are beautiful are nice! I had this girlfriend in school and she would.... nevermind!

Welcome!!!!

Think of it this way, it sounds like you may have enough to support a harliquin shrimp.
