Orange or Purple Linckia from FFE???

Has anyone ordered the orange or purple linckia stars from FFE??

They currently have them on special, and I was curious if their ID was trustworthy. I have read some of the warnings about linckia impostors on the board and I don't need a predator problem.

You could email them and ask. Not that they would go "Oh yeah, we are trying to scam you, they are imposters", but perhaps you could get a little info out of them .

That's a very novel idea!!!!!

I have had very good luck in ordering from FFE in the past, so they have not given me any reason to doubt them!!

We ordered an orange linkia from FFE several months ago along with another reefer. (As in, we both got one.) I don't think they're really linkias, as they do eat sponges, but we haven't had any problems with them. (Neither of us are deliberately keeping sponges, though.)

That's my 2c.

I don't know about the orange but I would bet the purple is a Tamaria Stria ..these are known to eat soft corals . I have one in my sps tank and have no problems. I did have one in my old 55 that ate a whle rock full of Tonga shrooms..Its easy to tell the diff, The T stria has orange\yellow feet, the Linkia has clear feet. Its hard to see in the picture but this one has orange feet
