Question

Nudibrachs

I've been wanting to purchase one of these for my tank, but haven't because I'm worried it may starve to death. I've heard they are picky eaters. Has anyone had any success with these creatures?

I have also heard that they are toxic and can pollute the tank if they die. I have a 125g tank with a 60g sump....so pretty good volume to absorb something like that I'm guessing.

Cali most of what people call nudibranchs will do all those things. There are a few that are easy to feed though. Elysia crispata from the Keys is a easy one and beautiful too. Should be easy to get too. Just remember, they don't like a lot of current and reef tank conditions tend to blow them around too much. They are highly allergic to the intake of power heads and overflows too.

Thanks Spanky.

I found some good pics and info on these guys. Your right they are beautiful. I have seen these for sale at the LFS I frequent. I just hope my current isn't too strong. If so I can just tie him to a rock or something

Thumbs down

heh...hey Cali

Nudis will just waste away in your system. Natural lifespan is only months anyway. They DO NOT survive in captivity...with the exception of the lettuce nudi mentioned above.
