Feather duster question

Does its entire body needed to be buried in the substrate with only the head poking out or is it okay to have half of it's body leaning against the rocks?

It is happy with both. As it creates new tubing you will find it sticking out more and more. It just likes to feel secure. Mine, I sort of stuck in the sand, and it has moved itself down some. But, he hasn't moved, and is very happy.
