critters growing in the tank.

I have heard the term pod and hydroid thrown aroung quite a bit. I am amblivious to these terms. I know that I have many unidentified organisms growing in my tank. Is there some sort of a website with descriptions of these? Or a book I can purchase. I want to fill in my knowledge gaps so any recomendations would be great.

these were all great sites that were given to me and they helped me out with iding odd things and critters I didn't know what they were.
