I have had one for a couple years. They're harmless.

I was at a reefers house last week, he has a 135 gallon and it is awesome. He had one in his tank. They make a great addition. I would like to get one but they are so hard to find locally.

Does anybody know if it is safe to mix urchins? I already have a pencil urchin ( black thin spins with white and blue dots on him ) and with my limited NO bulbs over my 90g fish not sure if he would have enough to eat.

Hi there-

Yep..we have two of the blues and two pink urchins similar to a tuxedo (in different tanks). I love our urchins. They are always moving about and cleaning. My only worry in a tank that small is that they wouldn't get enough to eat. They might get hungry and start snacking on your coralline, which they will do anyway. It's ok though cuz they just help spread the coralline algae spores around they tank when they go #2
