Xenia not openning


I have had my xenia in my tank for at least four hours and it has not opened my water quality is good my salinity's 1.022 and i have 5 watts of light per gallon is this natural? Or am i overeacting.

they may take a bit to adjust. Your salinity could be higher, around 1.025 they seem to like higher pH

Doug's right. Four hours and they'd only be filing their complaints about your water chemistry, let alone getting over them http://www.thereeftank.com/ubb/smile.gif

Also, can you note the alkalinity and roughly describe the prevalence of algal leachates?

I got the red sea kind according to lfs, they pump like crazy and are light pink. I want to let them get established in my sytem for a week and then attempt to propogate!

Just noting that this is a method where the Xenia will self propogate. I am waiting until my colony grows further before I propogate them myself.
