Question

What do you know about Ricordias

Well I again have learned something new and wanted to see if any of you know more. I have a large rock full of Ricordia, most of them bright orange, and a few green. Anyway I shared a couple with a fellow reefer and his are doing well also. So he had someone over to look at his tank and does conciderable propagating and seems very knowledgable. He says that these are Yuma Ricordia and are different from the common Florida. They even reproduce differently ? And if they are in fact worth what he says they are, I am soon to have a sale. Let me know what you know, as always thanks for sharing.

Yuma's will have a more pronounce "mouth" with bubbles present on the mouth.

Floridas can have more than 1 mouth while not having bubbles on the mouth.

Let's see if we can find a pic for you.

Wow! Check out this thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...hreadid=215545

Exactly what I was looking for.

Yuma ricordea are from IndoPac, and not as hard to come by as the Carribean variety, tho they seem to proliferate at a faster rate. yuma often have a distince lighter band radiating from the center, and are often sold as hairy shrooms on rock as opposed to single polyps like true caribean ricordea.
