Ribbon gorgonian question

Just bought a small purple ribbon gorgonian. I was told by the lfs that they can't be out of water. true?

I'd like to glue it to a rock and I don't really want lfs water in my tank. It's in the bag right now and I'll be acclimating for a couple of hours since the water it came in is only 1.022. Hopefully someone can help me out before I have to put it in the tank.

Good to know Casey. I read some posts in the archives about people fragging them and glueing them to pieces of rock. Does that mean they're ok out of water for a couple of minutes?

I would cut it underwater then flip it upside down with the tip sticking out of the water
and glue it right there to the rock

I just bought one as well. My LFS said that as long as you keep them moist they should be fine. Don't doddle, do your business and get them back in the water.
