You can chop it however you want to - just plan for the pieces to be a PITA to mount. I've chopped both little pieces off mine, as well as huge pieces (1/3 the size of the mother colony.)

Frag it however it will suit your needs. It will be upset for awhile, but should be fine.

Good luck,
Danielle

I agree with Danielle. I tried a few weeks ago just to mount a frag, and it didn't work out. I tried rubberbanding: it ended up being too much pressure and cut right thru the coral. Then I tried the bridal veil: after a few days it pretty much just disintegrated and I ended up losing it (smelled awful as well).

My advice would be to try to frag one small branch first and see how it works out, rather than chopping the whole thing up at once.

Good luck!

Maybe I will do a small piece first.I was going to give my uncle a decent size piece a colt, but a smaller one would be alright. There is a very good artice that I read on propagating the colt.

Hey there, That looks like a good way to Frag, from the looks of it!
I'd give it a shot with a few smaller pieces to try out!
